Shirley Stevens

1940-2021

Shirley Ann Stevens, 81, died May 26, 2021 at her home in Sigourney. She was born May 18, 1940 to Ralph and Mildred (Sage) Wymore in Oskaloosa.  She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1957.  On April 19, 1958 she married Allen Stevens in Oskaloosa.  They lived on a farm near Delta until 2014 then moved to their home in Sigourney.  Throughout the years Shirley worked at Big Smith, University of Iowa Hospital, and Louis Rich.  Later she delivered Meals on Wheels in her spare time.  She was once a part of a bowling league.  What she enjoyed the most in life was watching grandchildren in her home and attending their sporting events, and going to Riverside. 

She was preceded in death by her parents son Timothy, four sisters Betty Stewart, Peggy Spratt, Mary Louise “Patty” Pryor, Sandra “Susie” Luzzadder, and bother Billy Wymore

She is survived by her husband Allen of Sigourney, two sons Michael (Donna) Stevens of Sigourney, Bobby (Janet) Stevens of Rose Hill, three daughters Barbara (Wes) Stierwalt of Pleasantville, Tracy (Ron) Adreon of Pleasantville, and Melissa (Terry) Schroeder of Sigourney, daughter-in-law Cheryl Stevens of Sigourney, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters Beverly Pitt of Oskaloosa, Barbara Allgood of Oskaloosa, Vicky Zickel of Oskaloosa, and many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation Friday May 28 from 4-7 p.m. at the Holm Funeral Home with a memorial service Saturday May 29 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holm Funeral Home.
