Sigourney and English Valleys Boys Track Team Participate in EBF Relays


Sigourney’s Brady Clark bolts off the block as the first leg of the sprint medley

EDDYVILLE—On Thursday April 18, the Sigourney Savages and English Valleys boys track teams made the trip to EBF high school for the EBF Relays.

For the Sigourney relay teams, the Savages earned second place in the distance medley and the shuttle hurdles, with a third place finish in the 4x100 and a fourth place finish in the sprint medley.

For individuals, Sigourney’s Colt Reed placed sixth in the 100 meter dash with Brady Clark right behind him in seventh.

In the 200 meter dash, Isaac Bruns secured third place, while Colt Reed finished in fourth. 

Troy Klett secured second in the 400 meter run with a time of 57.50. Klett also placed second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:00.28. He wrapped up his day with a first place finish in the 3200 meter run.

Brayden Wood took home fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:22.24.

In the shot put event, Caden Clarahn secured a silver medal with a longest throw of 38-05.50. 

Lastly for the Savages, Ashton Schwab placed fifth in the discus event with a throw of 94-08, while Chase Clarahan secured seventh with a throw of 94-01.

For the English Valleys relays, the spring medley team secured a second place finish with a final time of 1:42.52. The Bears also earned a bronze in the 4x400 and a fourth place finish in the distance medley.

For individuals, English Valleys’ Deshone Anderson bolted to a third place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.69.

In the 200 meter dash, Drew Fisher earned a fifth place finish with a time of 25.87.

In the 400 meter dash, senior Jonahtyn Downing blazed past the competition for a first place finish with a time of 56.56, while Jack Osborn placed third in the same event with a time of 57.68.

Gage Heyne hit high speeds for his first place finish in the 800 meter run, while teammate Myles Grove was right behind him for a second place finish.

Lastly for the English Valleys individuals, AJ Bruns placed fourth in the discus event with a longest throw recorded at 105-01.

Both the Sigourney Savages and English Valleys track teams will return to action on April 23, when the Sigourney Savages host the Savages Relays.
