Sigourney and Keota compete at WACO’s State Qualifying Meet

WAYLAND – The Sigourney Savages and Keota Eagles went to Wayland on May 13 to a State Qualifying Track and Field meet hosted by WACO.

Mason Moore and the Sprint Medley Relay team of Sigourney placed Top Five in boy’s events. Moore having a third place finish in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 10:22.98 and the Sprint Medley Relay having a time of 1:47.78, placing fifth.

Rain Barthelman placed third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.53. Kaylee Weber finished second in the shot put (37-05.75) and fifth in the discus (87-06.00). The Shuttle Hurdle Relay also did well, placing fourth with a time of 1:14.62.

Keota’s Wyatt Sieren had a 52.31 in the 400 Meter Dash, Brady Duwa finished third in the long jump with a distance of 20-07.50 and Bryce Greiner threw his shot put 43 feet, placing fifth.

The boy’s Sigourney team placed 11th with 25 points and the boy’s Keota team placed 13th with 19 points.

The girl’s Sigourney team placed sixth with 52 points and the girl’s Keota team placed 13th with three points.
