Sigourney Girls Track Takes Home Third in Class B of EBF Relays


Sigourney’s Kia Montgomery blazed to a third place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.94

EDDYVILLE—On April 15, the Sigourney Savages girls track team headed to Eddyville for the EBF Relays. The Savages finished in third in Class B with a final aggregate score of 84.

For the relay events, the Savages secured first place in the 4x100 meter relay, while also taking second place in the 4x200, the sprint medley and the distance medley.

For individuals, Addison Yates earned silver medals in the 1500 and 3000 meter runs. 

Senior Amiya Smallwood sprinted to a third place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.39.

Kia Montgomery made her name known in the 400 meter dash with a third place finish with a time of 1:05.94.

In the 800 meter dash, Ella Bahlman blazed her way to a fourth place finish with a time of 3:21.93

Erin Dawson finished in fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, while also placing fifth in the shot put event. Josephine Moore also placed sixth in the shot put event, while also recording a second place finish in the discus event.

The Sigourney girls track team returned to action on April 23, when they host the Savage Relays at Sigourney High School.
