Sigourney Hosts 2024 Sigourney Invitational


English Valleys senior Gage Heyne leads the charge, as the male runners start their race

SIGOURNEY—On September 10, the Sigourney Savages hosted the 2024 Sigourney Invitational at Sigourney Golf and Country Club. The English Valleys girls took home first place with an aggregate score of 20.

The Sigourney Savages girls team was led by the Yates sisters. Addison Yates breezed to a third place finish, while Ellie Yates finished in seventh.

Brynn Clarahan also secured a top ten spot for the Savages with a ninth place finish.

Lastly for the Sigourney girls team, Cloee Wislon finished her race in 21st.

The Savages boys team followed the lead of senior Troy Klett, as he finished his race in third place. 

Freshman Levi Meyers wrapped up his race with a 23rd place finish, while fellow freshmen Jordan Anderson and Isaac Jones earned 28th and 35th respectively. 

For the English Valleys girls, freshman Anna Luers led the charge with a first place finish. Teammate Addison Achenbach was behind her, as she finished her race in fourth place.

Kaylee Frazier also earned a top ten finish, as she placed eight.

The Bears had three runners place in the 10-15 range as well: Kaylynn Caster-12th, Kailor Lown-14th and Aubrey Achenbach-15th.

The English Valleys boys were once again led by senior Gage Heyne. Heyne hauled his way to a first place finish.

Freshman Isaac Frazier and Evan Koehn also earned a top ten finishes, as Frazier placed seventh and Koehn took home tenth.
