Sigourney-Keota Shows no Sphere in Bowling Triangular Win

Last Wednesday, Dec. 9, the Sigourney-Keota Cobras took on the Washington Demons and West Burlington/Notre Dame Falcons at Keokuk County Bowl in Sigourney. 

 

The Cobras boy’s team scored 670 points in their Baker Games and overall they scored 2,096. Washington finished with a score of 1,323 and WB/ND had a score of 1,907.

 

Drew Dobbins shot a 116 & 111 for a 227 series

Jordan Shadley shot a 91 & 73 for a 164 series

Ty Krueger  shot a 173 & 137 for a 310 series

Gable Goff  shot a 123 & 128 for a 251 series

Corran Freel shot a 109 & 155 for a 264 series

Brock Alderson shot a 168 & 206 for a 374 series

 

“Brock struggled a little to find his line in the first game, but was able to make the adjustments needed for a better second game and to shoot really well in the Baker Games,” Coach Austin Bruns said of the freshman.

 

The girls team also beat WB/ND, outsourcing them 1,540-1,031. Hannah Alderson and Sam Bombei finished first and second respectively for the Cobras.

 

Emma Seifert shot a 63 & 50 for a 113 series

Lily VanVoltenburg shot a 80 & 79 for a 156 series

Dana O’Neill  shot a 95 & 110 for a 205 series

Sam Bombei shot a 123 & 119 for a 242 series

Hannah Alderson shot a 146 & 131 for a 277 series.

 

“Those two (Alderson and Bombei) led the girls to their first victory over WBND!” Coach Bruns enthusiastically said.

 

The Cobras next home bowling meet is on Wednesday, Dec. 16.
