SK High School Bowling Opens Their Season
OSKALOOSA - The Sigourney-Keota high school bowling teams opened their season on Tuesday, November 26 at Statesmen Lanes in Oskaloosa.
The SK girls varsity team claimed their first season victory with a total pin count of 2,243
resulting in an 89-pin margin over the Oskaloosa varsity girls.
Senior Addison Richardson led the SK girls followed by senior Jayden Montgomery. The balance of the girls’ varsity team is comprised of Gracie Gillam, Callie McCoid, Sophie Young, and Kaylie Montgomery.
The SK boys’ varsity team bowled well with a total pin count of 3,005, which fell just 3 pins
shy of the Oskaloosa team’s 3008.
“Good start to the season. We can’t hang our heads about losing to a team that qualified (for State) last year, by only 3 pins, and breaking 3,000 the first meet of the season,” said SK Coach Austin Bruns.
The SK boys were led by senior Landyn Greiner followed by sophomore Owen Clark. Aiden Greiner, Liam VanVoltenburg, Mison Milam, and Wells Clark round out the SK boys’ varsity team.
The SK bowling team will be back in action on Monday, December 2 at Air Lanes in Des Moines.
