South English fire leaves family in need

 

North Keokuk County Fire, Keswick and North English Fire Departments and EMS responded to a house fire in South English on Friday, January 1. Sasha Sorden shared “at 3:45 a.m. we were woke up to smoke alarms going off and a house full of smoke and a fire in the kitchen where the washer and dryer were. Thankfully Brandon McCombs, Will and I made it out safe. Jon was at my mom and Dad’s. We got out with just the clothes on our backs. Thank you North Keokuk County Fire, Keswick and North English Fire and EMS.” 

The family will soon get into a house. A go fund me has been set up for monetary donations at https://gofund.me/83befe6. They are still in need of winter gear including boots: men’s size 13 and 12, womens size 9; snow pants: two pair of mens XL, mens large and womens large, and a womens winter coat size large. Donations can be dropped off at 329 E Oak St. North English.
