Thomas James Woodard, 52

Thomas James Woodard, age 52 of Ollie Iowa passed away Sunday, September 15,2024. He was born the son of James and Rachel Woodard on April 20, 1972.

Tom attended Pekin Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1991. He participated in football, wrestling and track/field. 

In September 1990, Tom was involved in a car accident that paralyzed him from the waist down. Though severely injured this did not deter him from winning the State Wheelchair shot putt competition Spring of 1991. Not only did he win he set a new record of 20'1 3/4".

Tom wore his class ring on a chain until he passed. He continued to follow Pekin football and wrestling. He stated, "Once a Panther, Always a Panther!

Tom kept his ornery grin and sense of humor. He always said he wanted to be remembered as "Tougher than John Wayne and Cooler than Fonzie!"

He is survived by his parents Jim Woodard and Rachel Breen, sister Beth Brodeur (Ed) Winn, niece Dana (Jacob) Hammond, nephew Cody Brodeur.  Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, step siblings and friends.

His body has been cremated.  A memorial service may be held at a later date.
