Utterback wins 175th career match, three S-K wrestlers place at Colfax-Mingo

COLFAX – In just under five minutes of wrestling time she added even more history to her name. 

This weekend at the Colfax-Mingo girls wrestling tournament Reanah Utterback was able to win her 115-pound bracket with four-straight first period pins.

Utterback started her day by pinning a WACO opponent in 58 seconds. She then just needed 1:17 to pin a Boone wrestler. 

In the semifinals Utterback pinned a Newton wrestler in 1:16. 

In the championship match Utterback needed just 37 seconds to pin a Pella opponent. 

Kia Montgomery was able to finish third in the 130-pound bracket. Montgomery’s day started off with her being pinned by a Saydel opponent. 

Montgomery would then win the rest of her matches. She started off by pinning a Tri-County opponent in 1:18. She then needed 28 seconds to pin a Colfax-Mingo wrestler. She won the consolation semifinal match in just 30 seconds. 

Montgomery was able to win the third place match, by pinning her opponent in 59 seconds. Her opponent in that match was the same wrestler she faced in the quarterfinals. 

Karley Greiner placed fifth in the 155-pound bracket. 

Greiner won her quarterfinal match with a 9-3 decision over an Ankeny wrestler. In the semifinals Greiner was pinned in 3:54. 

In the consolation semifinals Greiner was pinned late in the third period by a Pella opponent. 

In the fifth place match Greiner was able to win a match over a Colfax-Mingo opponent with a 2-0 decision. 

Izzy McCullough wrestled in the 100-pound bracket. She was pinned in the first period in both of her matches. 

Madison Clarahan wrestled in the 190-pound bracket. She was pinned in the first period in both of her matches.
