Wesley Krumm
1934-2020
Wesley Krumm, 86, of Sigourney, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday, Nov. 18 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer. Visitation was at 10 a.m. on
Wednesday and ran until the time of service. Burial will be in the Westfield Cemetery at Grinnell. In lieu of
flowers memorial contributions may be made to the English River Community Club. Social distancing is
encouraged and all attendees will be required to wear a mask.
Wesley Raymond Krumm was born in Grinnell, Iowa on July 15, 1934, the son of Marion and Thelma
Gillespie Krumm. He was a 1953 graduate of Gibson High School. Wesley suffered with polio as a young
boy yet that did not stop him from working on his family’s farm. Over the years he worked for several area
farmers before moving to Grinnell to run a Mobil Station. Eventually he returned to Gibson and took over
the family farm and milking operation. Wesley also drove truck for Kingsberry Homes, hauled live stock to
market for many local farmers, and he worked at the Louis Rich plant in Sigourney. After retirement he
busied himself with woodworking and home improvement projects. Wesley also enjoyed traveling to visit
family out of state. His final years were spent in the Manor House Care Center where friends and staff were
considered his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mike Krumm; a great grandson, Christian Sexton; two
brothers, Lawrence and Claude Krumm; two sisters, Elizabeth McIntosh and Barbara Buckley; a brother-
in-law, Jim Van Patten; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Krumm and a special friend, Janice Henning.
Wesley is survived by five daughters: Sandra (Jerry) Fox, Connie (Maher) Mattan, Kathie (Mark)
Dennison, Sherie (Les) Desadier, and Christine (Jorge) Bellas; two sons, Troy (Ellen) Krumm and Tony
(Sandy) Krumm; a daughter-in-law, Shelley Krumm; a sister, Virginia Van Patten; two brothers, Keith
(Barbara) Krumm and Harvey Krumm; a sister-in-law, Clarene Krumm; twenty-six, grandchildren; Tiffany
Thiessen, Lindsey ( Greg) Jergens, Mahmoud, Zach, Malik and Sarah Mattan, Joshua Moore, Caleb and
Owen Krumm, Amey Westfall, Jeremy(Whitney) Krumm, Ashley Goodright, Erin Rice, Holly Penny,
Alyssa and Myka Desadier, Emerson and Addison Bellas, Kim, Tasha, Randi, Jena, Rex, Shyenne, Casey
and Brandon. He also leaves behind forty-four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
