EV earns four medals on Lagos Acres Course

Keota – The Lady Bears wound up winning the team score, with two medalists and the boys’ golf team finished second but earned two medals on the Lagos Acres Course on April 22.

Maleah Ackerman continued to lead her team with consistent shooting in the low to mid-40s, finishing with a 45. She shot the lowest round of the day and Abby Garringer was runner-up medalist with 47. Rounding out the scoring was Rebekah Berrier with 52 and Grace Jordan with 55. The Lady Bears had a team score of 199 and won the girls’ side with Keota and IMS lacking enough golfers for a team score.

On the boys’ side, Daniel Tapken shot 41 and Cole Stephenson shot 42, earning the top two lowest rounds of the day. Behind them were Tanner Mihal with 49 and Kaden Hall with 50. The Bears finished out with a score of 182, coming three strokes shy of beating Keota.

Other Bears to compete included Seth Thompson with 51, Cael Hester with 55, Beau Flander with 56 and Sam Kingland with 62.

EV hosted Montezuma on April 25 and then headed to Belle Plaine on April 26 to finish out their week. The boys were back on the Lagos Course April 29 for an 18-hole Invitational and both teams will compete at the SICL Meet on May 6 at the Oakland Acres Course in Grinnell.
