NORTH ENGLISH – During the August 7 meeting of the North English City Council, City Employee David Knipfer reported that the foundations and I-beams for the pedestrian bridge over the creek at Smoky Row Trail were in place. He stated that the city should consider using a metal deck and railing instead of wood, as previously planned. Steel is more expensive than wood, but would be easier to install and save on labor costs.

Strohman reported that the roadwork on Washington Street had been delayed and was now expected to start after Labor Day. City Clerk Tara Heyne explained that she had received a complaint from an elderly gentleman about the entrance of city hall, which contains steps, not being ADA compliant. Knipfer reported that, due to a damaged wire, the meter at the water has begun saying the tower is full when it is not full.
