English Valleys girls set off from the starting line

KALONA—The English Valleys cross country teams kicked off their season with a trip to Hillcrest High School. The girls team took home second place with an aggregate score of 65.

Anna Luers led the charge with a second place finish. The rest of the team finished as follows: 12th Addison Achenbach, 16th Kaylee Frazier, 18th Katlynn Caster, 20th Kailor Lown and 22nd Aubrey Achenbach.

The boys were once again led by senior Gage Heyne, who hurried his way to a first place finish. Isaac Frazier also earned an 11th place finish, while Evan Koehn placed 19th.
