South English Council Establishes Library Board
SOUTH ENGLISH – During the Sept. 10 meeting of the South English City Council, the council appointed a new library board. Councilman Cameron Miller pointed out that ordinances require the terms of board members to be staggered and Mayor Ed Shafranek suggested appointing two board members for three year terms and three board members for six year terms. Chandra Harper, Cindy Hoylman and Kendra Van Dyke were appointed for six year terms, while Larry Spicer and Brittany Coffman were appointed for three year terms.
The council approved an $8,000 bid from Frazier Farms to install tin in the Snow Plow Shed. Councilmen Nick Frazier and Hope Frazier both voted Yes for the bid. The council approved spending around $1,000 in ARPA funds to purchase new swings for the park. The council discussed what to do with leftover gravel; Hope Frazier recommended keeping it, because city streets will need it again in the future, which the other council members agreed with.
