Jeffrey Allan Clubb
Summarizing the life of someone like Jeff into a couple paragraphs seems impossible. From his family he loved and supported limitlessly, to his valued friends from his many distinct worlds—work, hunting, fishing, sports, motorcycles, friendships, or beyond—Jeff had many diverse passions that resulted in a large network of people he cared for.
For those who knew Jeff, knew him genuinely. He was a straight shooter. He was driven. He never knew a stranger. He enjoyed learning new things and teaching others. For some he was the one with a trusted opinion or a detailed plan. He was a man who had a story or joke for every occasion. Respected for his accomplishments; yet most proud when he could provide guidance in yours. The connections in his life where he was able to help someone else with a sale, get their first deer, catch a trophy fish, make a game-winning play, find a new road to ride, or insert a variety of other endless victories–he was honored to share that experience.
Jeffrey Allan Clubb was born November 4, 1958. He grew up on a family farm and graduated with the largest class from Sigourney High School in 1977. After college, he married Barbara in 1985. The two welcomed their daughter Jennifer in 1987. Jeff lived in a few places before settling on an acreage outside of Sigourney. He was a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Sigourney. Upon his diagnosis of cancers, he and his wife decided to downsize and build a home in Ankeny to be closer to family. Jeff retired on January 1, 2024 after 39 successful years in sales. On September 25, 2024 Jeff passed away peacefully in the care of Hospice after a courageous several-month health battle at the age of 65.
Those in his immediate family who will carry on his memory are Barbara (wife), Jennifer (daughter), Bryan Beal (son-in-law), and Clay (grandson). Jeff had many cherished sisters- and brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews from the Clubb, Zimmerman, Gaston, Martin, Haswell/Jakubiak, Llewellyn/Knapp, Steward, Stanton, VerSteeg, and Sellers families. Preceding him were his parents Forrest and Helen Clubb, father-and mother-in-law Carl and Maxine Martin, sister Cyndi Zimmerman, brother-in-law Don Zimmerman, brother Denny Clubb, sister-in-law Debbie Martin, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
To celebrate the life of Jeff, you are welcome to join the family on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at the Lakeside Center at 400 NW Lakeshore Drive in Ankeny, Iowa from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at a later date. Jeff’s family wishes for any memorials to go to a cause that is close to your heart in his honor. Remember that while Jeff’s time was cut short, any day with a man like him was better than a lifetime without.
