English Valleys fall to WACO in week 7

NORTH ENGLISH – A balanced attack kept the Bears off guard.

In the week 7 game against WACO English Valleys was unable to keep up with the balanced attack of WACO. The Warriors were able to gain an eventual 60-12 victory over the Bears. 

Most of the scoring for the game came in the first half as all 13 of the points by English Valleys were scored in the opening two quarters. For WACO, they scored 47 of their 60 points in the first 24 minutes of the game. 

The Warriors of WACO established the lead early as they were able to gain a 26-6 lead after the first quarter. In the second quarter the Warriors added 21 more points to their lead. 

Both of the touchdowns that English Valleys scored came in the first half. They scored a touchdown in the first quarter and added another in the second quarter. 

The Bears were led defensively by Cael Grove, who was able to finish the game with 9.5 total tackles including seven solo tackles. 

Senior Ben Coffman had four total tackles in the game with two solo tackles. Korbyn Brecht, another senior, had 3.5 total tackles with two of those being solo. He also recorded 1.5 tackles for a loss and one sack. 

Another sack for the Bears was recorded by Colton Mikesell who had 2.5 total tackles with two solo tackles. 

Jack Osborn finished the game with an interception that he returned for 25 yards. 

The Bears stand at 1-6 overall on the season. The Bears will conclude the regular season this Friday when they travel south to play New London (1-6).
