#4 Pekin Puts on Another Show for the Home Crowd
PACKWOOD—On September 20, the #4 ranked in Class A Pekin Panther hosted the Columbus Wildcats. The Panthers secured their shut-out of the season with a 48-0 victory.
The Panthers pushed their overall margin of victory on the season to +222 with a total point margin of 232-10.
Before the season, Pekin Head Coach Klytn Weber described the defense as, “Bloodthirsty.” There is no better way to display that to the public than three shut-outs in four games and only 10 total points given up in the other game.
The Panthers offense has a special ability to scheme up explosive plays of 20 or more yards.
Senior quarterback Will Adam finished the night with an average of 22.4 yards per catch on his seven completions. Adam totaled 191 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns.
Sophomore Alijah Brock emerged as a deep threat with three receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
The Panthers have displayed their prowess on both sides of the ball throughout these first four games. They have scored 29 total offensive touchdowns, while hold opposing offense to only one total touchdown.
The Panthers offense leads all of Class A in offensive touchdowns (29) and yards gained (1755).
The Panthers push to 4-0, and have a powerhouse matchup coming up next week. We have the #4 team in Class A visit #5 team in Class A, according to Varsity Bound. The Panthers will head to Madrid for high profile game against the Tigers.
