Adam highlights Thursday night wrestling for Pekin
PACKWOOD – Tough competition didn’t seem to hold the Panthers back on Thursday night.
Pekin hosted a pair of conference opponents on Jan. 23. The Panthers put on a good battle in both dual meets, but ultimately fell in both.
Against Louisa-Muscatine the Panthers fell 54-12.
Highlighting that match was 175-pound wrestler Henry Adam.
In his match Adam made quick work of opponent Owen Stumbo. The two wrestlers battled for 1:26 before Adam was able to pin Stumbo for the win.
Gabe Gentry would win the 113-pound match via a forfeit.
Landon Crow (165); Jaxon Mefford (126) and Zachary Doud (138) were all pinned in the first period of their match. Cael Silvers battled in the 120-pound match, but he was pinned in the second period.
Against Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union the Panthers fell 74-0.
Doud had one of the best battles of the night. In the 138-pound match Doud wrestled Bowen Thomson throughout the six-minute match. At the end Thomson finished with one more point than Doud in an 11-10 win.
Gentry (113) was defeated by tech fall. Silvers (120); Mefford (126) and Crow (157) all were pinned in the first period. Adam was pinned in the third period of the 165-pound match.
