Alice Marie Robertson, 71

Alice Marie Robertson, 71, of Delta passed away Wednesday, November 8th under the Essence of Life hospice care in Sigourney.  Alice was born January 24, 1952 in Indianola, Iowa to William and Julia Street Foust.  She attended grade school through jr high in Delta and graduated in 1970 from the Sigourney High School.  After high school Alice attended Iowa School of Beauty.  Throughout her life Alice worked for the Liquor Store in What Cheer, operated the 108 Club in Delta, the What Cheer Newspaper and retired in 2021 from her position as the Delta City Clerk after 22 years.  Outside of being the City Clerk, Alice took great pride in helping the people of ‘her town’ Delta.  She was on the Delta Fun Day Committee, the Garrett Cemetery Board, Delta Housing Committee and served as an Election Official for many years.  

In 1972, Alice gave birth to her son Rudy Votroubek III and in 1989, she gave birth to her daughter Kaleigh Robertson. She was an avid fan of the Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, any team her grandson Wade played for and/or coached, any team her great nephew Carson played for, and anywhere her great niece Abby performed gymnastics.  Alice loved to spend time enjoying the nice weather on her deck surrounded by her family, friends and her grand-pups Agnes and Pepper, while drinking a cold beverage.

Her memory will be honored by her children, Rudy Votroubek (Linda Farley) and Kaleigh Robertson of Delta; her grandson Wade Votroubek (Jessie Maxwell) of What Cheer; sister Karen (Steve) Goodman of Rose Hill; sister in law Kathy Foust of Williamsburg; nieces April (Dj) Davis, Wendy (Terry) Fogle, Sara (Matt) Zimmerman, Jackie (Marcus) Wyatt; nephews William Hank (Daysha) Foust III, Adam Foust, Shawn Goodman; 5 Great Nieces-Chelsea, Savhannah, Abby, Allison, Emmalou; 9 Great Nephews-Carson, Tyler, Alex, Keaton, Zachary, Brody, Mason, Payton, Jace; 3 Great Great Nieces, Zoey, Zaylee, Zenley; 1 Great Great Nephew, Brecken; and many, many friends that she considered family.

Alice was proceeded in death by her parents William and Julia Street Foust; her brothers William Henry Foust Jr and Rick Foust; nephew Jimmy Foust.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Delta Schoolhouse on December 2, 2023 at 2pm.
