Anthony ‘Tony’ Greiner

1960-2021

Anthony 'Tony' Greiner, of Brentwood, Mo., passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 25, 2021 at the age of 61, with his wife Jan at his side.

Tony was born on March 11, 1960 at the Keokuk County Hospital in Sigourney, the oldest son of Francis W. and Judy Northup Greiner. He was raised on a farm five miles north of Sigourney along with his six other siblings. Tony attended school in Sigourney and excelled both academically and athletically. Tony was a member of several sports teams for the Savages, most notably in football and track and field. Tony, along with his brother Joe, were members of the school record 4X100, 4X200 and 4X400 teams. Tony was also a member of SICL champion and state finals football teams. He was an A student and a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation with the SHS class of 1978, Tony went on to the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with degrees in Accounting and Computer Science in 1983. After college, Tony moved to St. Louis and eventually met his wife Janet Susin Greiner.

In 1994, Tony and Jan were married and raised three beautiful and gifted children. His greatest pride and joy watching his kids experience life to their fullest. Tony was a kind and gentle man who loved his family.

Tony is survived by his wife Janet, his children Carmen, Lauren and Ben of Brentwood, Mo., his brother Joe (Jane) of Coralville, sister Kathleen (Clint) Cason of Ottumwa, brothers Michael of Sigourney, Thomas (Kathy) Greiner of Spring Valley, Minn., Greg (Barbara) Greiner of Beaverdale, Iowa, Uncle's Byrle (Carol) Northup of Chesterfield, Mo., Mike (Cam) Northup of Lomita, Calif., and Aunt Debbie (Bob) Schauf of Sigourney along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents,his sister Cyndi Carluccio and many aunts and uncles.
