Sigourney's Athlete of the Week, Ava Fisch

The athlete of the week for the week of July 8 is Ava Fisch of the Sigourney Savages softball team.

Fisch has been red hot at the plate all postseason. In two games, she has a batting average of 0.426 and an on-base percentage of .500. The Savage lead-off hitter has been finding her way on base at an extremely high rate.

Fisch also played the hero in the win over Highland. In the bottom of the seventh, she hit a ground-out to the pitcher that brought home the winning run and pushed the Savages one step closer to the state tournament.

The News-Review would like to congratulate Sigourney’s Ava Fisch on a spectacular week of play.
