Athlete of the Week: Gage Heyne

The Athlete of the week for the week of Oct. 28 is English Valleys senior cross country runner Gage Heyne. 

The senior was able to run his way to a fourth place finish at the State cross country meet held Nov. 2 at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge. Heyne finished the 5K course in a time of 16.08.9 which was the fourth-fastest time in the class 1A race. 

For most of the race Heyne was stride-for-stride with eventual race winner, Gavin Grundhovd. Heyne finished 11 seconds behind Grundhovd.
