Athlete of the Week: Reed Lauderman

The athlete of the week for the week of February 5 is Reed Lauderman of the Pekin Panthers boys’ wrestling team.

Laudreman secured his spot in the 2024 IHSAA Boys’ State Wrestling meet with a second place finish in the 106 bracket. 

He started his district tournament with two straight pins in 26 seconds and 1:15. 

In the championship match, Lauderman fell to West Branch’s Ethan Humphrey, but immediately bounced back.

In a matchup against Tanner Booth of Pleasantville in the second place match, he secured his spot in the state meet with a 6-1 decision win.
