Axmear Named to All-District and Second All-State Teams

English Valleys junior Kennedy Axmear earned another athletic feat as she wrapped up a spectacular junior year. Axmear was named to the Class 1A South Central All-District and the second 1A All-State teams. 

Axmear wrapped her year as a pitcher with 131 innings pitched, an ERA of 2.35 and 156 strikeouts. From the plate, Axmear had a batting average of 0.567 and 40 runs batted in. Her slugging percentage of 1.209 finished as the second highest in the state of Iowa, regardless of class. She hit 11 home runs, which was the fifth most in Class 1A, and finished in the top five of 17 separate statistics in the SICL conference, with six of those being the leader in a given statistic. 

Axmear set a career low in earned run average with her 2.35. She also set career marks in batting average and run batted in.
