Sigourney:

On May 18, the Sigourney Savages hosted the Pella Christian Eagles. The Eagles defeated the Savages by a final score of 10-0.

It was a tough day for the Savages, as they were only able to account for three hits. Issac Bruns was able to secure a stolen base after hitting a single. 

The Savages fall to 1-1 on the season, and will return to action on May 22, when they host the Belle Plaine Plainsmen.   

Keota:

The Keota Eagles hosted the Chariton Chargers on May 17. The Eagles fell to the Chargers by a final score of 11-5. 

The Eagles were led by senior Caleb Waterhouse, who went 2-4 with a RBI. Cole Kindred pitched four innings in which he gave up one earned run on five hits. 

The Eagles fall to 1-2 on the season, and will return to action on May 19, when they host the Twin Cedar Sabers. 

On May 19, the Keota Eagles defeated the visiting Twin Cedar Sabers by a final score of 10-0. 

The Eagles quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning. They went on to add seven more runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to secure the 10-0 victory.

Dalton Dodd and Chase Sieren were the main catalyst for the offensive spark as they accounted for six of the 10 total runs batted in. 

Dodd has a perfect batting percentage, while also knocking in three runs. Sieren went 2-4 with a single and double, and knocked in three runs as well.

Tanner Waterhouse went five innings while only allowing two hits and striking out three batters. On the day, Waterhouse held the Sabers to a batting average of .105.

The Eagles advance to 2-2 on the season, and will be seen again on May 22, when they host the Iowa Valley Tigers.

English Valleys/Tri-County:

On May 15, the EV/TC baseball team made the trip to Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo for a matchup against the North Tama Redhawks. The Bears were defeated by the Redhawks by a final score of 14-4.

Levi Molyneux led the EV/TC team with a batting average of .667 in the game. Molyneux was able to smack two singles, which led to him scoring two separate runs for the team. 

Junior Luke Moore went four and two thirds innings with no earned runs giving up with two strikeouts.

The EV/TC team falls to 0-1 on the season, and will return to action on May 24, when they host the Belle Plaine Plainsmen.
