Boys and Girls Wrestling Mid-Season Run Through

Sigourney-Keota:

The SK Cobras currently sit with a team record of 5-4 at the mid-season break. The Cobras were able to secure second in the Willard Howell tournament and third in the Regina Invitational.

The SK Cobras currently have one wrestler ranked in the top three of their perspective weight class: Jack Clarahan, third in the 170 weight class. Clarahan holds a record of 16-1 on the season. Freshman Reanah Utterback and junior Reid Molyneux also held top ten rankings in their weight class during the season. Utterback has a record of 13-2 in the 106 weight class, while Molyneux holds a record of 13-2 in the 152 weight class.

The Cobras will return to action on January 5, when they visit the Iowa Valley Tigers for a quad with North Mahaska and Mid-Prairie.

English Valleys/Tri-County:

Boys: 

The English Valleys/Tri-County boys wrestling team currency yields a team record of 4-9. The Bears are led by junior Luke Moore with an individual record of 15-4 in the 195 weight class. Senior Josh Osborn is right behind Moore with a record of 13-2 in the 145 weight class. Freshman Hunter Brackelsberg has impressed in his debut season by going 13-3 in the 132 weight division to start the season off. Senior Dillion Kapple rounds off the top of the Bears with an individual record of 10-7 in the 220 weight class.

The EV/TC boys wrestling team will return to action on January 5, when they visit the Baxter Bolts.

Girls:

In their inaugural season, the English Valleys/Tri-County girls wrestling team was led by a freshman Anna Gorsh, who currently holds a record of 13-8 in the 125 weight class. Sophomore Kadie Troyer concluded the first half of her first season with a record of 10-8 in the 120 weight class. 

The EV/TC girls wrestling team will return to action on January 5, when they visit the Baxter Bolts.

Pekin:

Boys:

The Pekin boys wrestling team wrapped up the first half of the season with a record of 1-7. 

The team has been led by senior Blake Juhl with a record of 14-2 in the 195 weight division. Senior Logan Baker finished his first half of the season with a record of 12-5 in the 170 weight class.

The Panthers will return to action on January 3, when they host a quad with Davis County, Moravia and Cardinal.

Girls:

The Pekin girls wrestling team concluded the first half of their inaugural season with a record of 0-3. 

The Panthers were led by a tandem of freshmen in Hailey Pedrick and Lila Miller. Pedrick wrapped up the first half of her high school wrestling career with a record of 14-4 in the 140 weight class. Miller holds a record of 11-7 in the 145 weight class. 

The Panthers girls wrestling team returns to action on December 6, when they visit the Highland Huskies.
