KEOTA—On June 17, the #10 ranked Sigourney Savages visited the Keota Eagles for the second matchup between the two this season. The Savages secured the season sweep over Keota by a final score of 12-3.

The Eagles and Savages found themselves tied at one apiece after two innings of play. The Savages high scoring offense once again exploded with a six run inning.

The game pushed to a 8-3 lead before the seventh inning. They once again displayed the offensive prowess with four runs to push their lead to 12-3.

Junior Caden Clarahan clobbered five RBIs off of a home run and two doubles. Clarahan continues to display his dominance at the plate, as he sits in the top five of seven separate statistics of Class 1A as a batter: batting average, home runs, on-base percentage, RBIs, slugging percentage and walks drawn.

Clarahan also got the start from the bump, and went four innings with two earned runs on two hits, six walks and eight strikeouts. Senior Jake Moore came in relief with three innings pitched, no earned runs on one hit and two strikeouts.

Junior Brady Clark and freshman Ike Molyneux each had two RBIs for the Savages.

The Savages have stayed true to their philosophy of small ball all season. They sit in the top five of both batting average (3rd with 0.365) and on-base percentage (2nd with 0.513) in Class 1A.

The Savages push to 13-2 on the season with a conference record of 9-1. They will return to action on June 19, when they visit the English Valleys Bears.

The Eagles fall to 6-9 with a conference record of 3-9. They will return to action on June 19, when they visit Southeast Warren.
