Contributing to the community at Senior Class Night: The EVCSF in action

At Senior Class Night for the English Valleys graduating class of 2024, the EV Community Scholarship Foundation was able to contribute generously to each of 21 applicants who applied for scholarship assistance this year. EVCSF members Scott Romine and Katie Taukei were on hand to announce and distribute the awards. With 36 named scholarships available from the community and generosity from other donors and memorials, the Foundation was able to provide $2,000 to every applicant. 

 

Since its inception in 1992, the scholarship foundation at English Valleys has awarded 926 scholarships worth $662,325. The EVCSF Board is comprised of President Phil Hester, Vice President Scott Romine, Secretary Nancy Wilkerson, and Treasurer Ramona Hall.

 

The named scholarships went to these graduates:

 

Emily Allison – Jane & Dave Evans Memorial Scholarship ($1000) – Chod Wilkerson Scholarship ($250) = $3,250

 

Mallory Aossey – Clarence & Audrey Learned Memorial Scholarship ($500) = $2,500

 

Libby Armstrong – Gary Keiser Scholarship I  ($1000) W. Dean & Mary Best Family Scholarship ($350) = $3,000

 

Kennedy Axmear – Doris Riess Family Scholarship ($4,000) –  Larry & Shirley Frazier Scholarship ($250) = $6,250

 

Ty Ayers – Harry & Francine Miller Scholarship ($500) – Wade’s Golf & Mow ($250) = $2,750

 

Rebecca Berry – Nine Who Care Scholarship ($500) = $2,500

 

A J Bruns – Fortnightly Club Scholarship ($500) – St. Joseph’s Altar & Rosary ($250) = $2,750

 

Keegan Burdick – William & Virginia Family Award  ($600) – Seth Kolosik Scholarship ($250) = $2,850

 

Ethan Garrett – Lamont & Frances Littrel Memorial ($500) – Robert Vercande Scholarship ($250) = $2,750

 

Hannah Grimm  – Betsy Pilkington Memorial Scholarship ($1000) – EVHS Staff Scholarship ($250) = $3,250

 

Myles Grove – Gary Keiser Memorial Scholarship II ($1000) – North Keokuk County Fire Dept. ($300) = $3,300

 

Delaney Hall – George Wine Scholarship II ($1750) – Fern Warner Crawley Scholarship ($250) = $4,000

Brody Koehn – Steve Axmear Scholarship ($500) – JC & Martha Vercande Scholarship ($250) = $2,750

 

Gabrielle Kustes – Kristi Lee Doughty Memorial Scholarship ($2000) – Class of 1973 II ($375) = $4,3     

 

Elijah Marsh – Norma J. Leinen Scholarship ($1000) – Powell Funeral Home Scholarship ($250) = $3,250

 

Ada Mews – William & Mary Hester Family Award ($750)  – Bob & Charlotte Smith Scholarship ($250) = $3,000

 

Emma Pierce – Interchurch Council Scholarship ($400) - $2,400

 

Jerica Roberts – Amney Pope Memorial Scholarship ($500) = $2,500

 

Jaidyn Rugg – George Wine Scholarship I ($1750) – N.E. Firemen Scholarship ($250) = $4,000

 

Kenzie Sanders – Class of 1973 Scholarship I  ($375) = $2,375                                                        

 

Addison Troyer – Glanz Family Scholarship ($400) = $2,400

 

EVCSF Grand Total for 2024 = $66,550
