Crawford, Halleran and Shifflett Open Season With Double Digit Scoring Night

The Sigourney Savages opened their season with a 53-31 victory over Tri-County on Tuesday, Dec. 1, for their first (and Tri-County’s second) game of the season.

The Savages had an early back and forth with Tri-County, only leading 13-7 after the first quarter.

However, the second quarter would see the Savages score 22 to the Trojans 7 to go up 35-14 at half.

“There’s a lot we did well tonight, but there’s also a lot we need to work on,” Sigourney Coach Eslick said.

In the second half, Sigourney saw their lead be as big as 50-20. Tri-County scored 11 points in the final quarter.

The Trojans were led by three players with nine points: Eli Molyneux, Dayton Pace and Dylan Icenbice. Pace also had nine rebounds. Jeremiah Seaton, Dylan Icenbice and Scott Rivot had six rebounds each for Tri-County.

Levi Crawford finished the night with 13 points, three rebounds, three assists and five steals.

Brock Halleran had 11 points and six rebounds, Ethan Shifflett had ten points, five rebounds and three steals. Mason Moore also jumps off the stat sheet with seven assists and four steals.

“I'm really happy with the way they work and they're great kids and they work hard. You don't have to try to coach the effort, you just gotta clean up some of the skill stuff,” Coach Eslick said about his team.
