Delta Days Schedule
Sept 7 starts with a fireman's breakfast at 7 a.m. The Delta Covered Bridge run starts at 8 a.m. With shirts and medals for everyone. There will be trophies for fastest male and female 5K runners. Trophies for the fastest 1 mile and 2 mile runners under 12 years old. Call Dixie Shipley 641-660-7848. The parade will start at 10. a.m. Call June Rice 641-624-2077.
Presentation of Veteran's quilts will be following the parade at the tractor pull area, To honor veterans.
The tractor pull will start at 11 a.m. Contact Joe Keasling 641-660-6135. The truck pull will follow.
At noon kids activities will start in the park- Caricatures, face painting, Wes the balloon man.
Children's games at 2p.m. Bags tournament at noon.
Pork sandwiches and walking tacos will be served all day starting at 11 a.m.. Bingo at 1p.m.
Chicken bingo at 6 p.m. Raffle drawing for a Delta T-shirt quilt.
Greg Peiffer Music in the park starts at 7.p.m.?
Sunday the 8th at 9 a.m. There will be a community church service by the Covered Bridge Replica. Bring lawn chairs.
This years grand Marshall will be Barb Fisher and her entire family. Barb moved to Delta as a child and has lived in Delta her entire life. Barb's mother and her children Trish Fisher, Tracy Fisher, Todd and Alysia Fisher, and Tamera and Chris Stanley all live here. Many of her grandchildren live here. All of Barb's children and grandchildren have graduated from the Sigourney Comm. High school Barb worked for many years as a cook at the Delta meal site, after it closed she has worked at the Milestone Sigourney meal site that serves the Delta area. She has volunteered for Delta Day on many occasions. She has served on the Delta City council for many years and a brief time as Mayor. A Great supporter of Delta.
