English Valleys Boys Place Third in Belle Plaine Meet

BELLE PLAINE—The English Valleys Bears boys track team traveled to Belle Plaine high school on March 30 for a meet. The Bears secured third place in the Class B division with an aggregate score of 98 points. 

For the team events, the Bears took home the gold in the 4x100 meter relay with a final time of 46.84. The 4x100 team is made up of Myles Grove, Josh Osborn, Keshaun Lundy and Deshon Anderson. 

The Bears also secured first in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:39.30. The 4x200 meter relay consists of Reese Bender, Cecil Smallwood, Keshaun Lundy and Deshon Anderson. 

In the distance medley, the Bears placed first with a final time of 4:11.03. The distance medley team is made up of Reese Bender, Ethan Garrett, Jonathyn Downing and Gage Hyne.

Last for the team events, the Bears took home the silver in the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:02.00. The 4x800 team consists of Myles Grove, Cecil Smallwood, Jonathyn Downing and Gage Hyne.

For the individual events, Keshaun Lundy and Deshon Anderson placed fifth and sixth in the 100 meter dash. Lundy finished in fifth with a time of 11.93, while Anderson placed sixth with a time of 11.95. 

In the 200 meter dash, Keshaun Lundy finished in fifth with a time of 25.08, while Chase Harriman placed ninth with a time of 26.10.

Josh Osborn placed third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.06. 

Myles Groves took home the silver in the 800 meter dash with a final time of 2:12.85. Hunter Offerman also placed sixth in the same event with a time of 2:33.98. 

In the 1600 meter run, Gage Hyne finished first with a final time of 4:58.32. 

Cecil Smallwood took home the gold in the 400 meter hurdles with a final time of 1:01.26.

In the discus event, AJ Bruns placed fourth with a longest throw recorded at 94-09.25. Declan Patterson finished in ninth in the same event with a longest throw of 87-00.50. 

Deshon Anderson placed second in the long jump event with a longest jump recorded at 18-08.50. Ben Coffman also finished in fifth in this event with a longest jump recorded at 17-01.50.

Lastly for the individual events, Treyon Shaw placed ninth in the shot put event with a longest throw of 32-00.00.
