English Valleys Comeback Falls Short Against Keota
NORTH ENGLISH—On May 31, the English Valleys Bears hosted the Keota Eagles for a SICL matchup. The Eagles outlasted the Bears by a final score of 12-9.
The Eagles jumped out to a 12-4 lead after three innings of play. The Bears mounted a comeback by scoring six runs in the final three innings, but it was not enough to dig themselves out of that hole.
Billie Kindred got the start at the bump for the Eagles, and went five innings deep with two earned runs on three hits and six strikeouts.
The Eagles offense was led by Aiden McGuire, who accumulated four RBIs on the day. Evan Vittetoe also knocked in three runners on the day.
The Eagles also had four players earn stolen bases: Chase Sieren, Evan Vittetoe, Caleb Waterhouse and Tanner Waterhouse.
The Eagles advance to 4-4 on the season, and will return to action on June 1, when they visit the New London Tigers.
The Bears fall to 0-6 on the season, and will return to action on June 2, when they visit the BGM Bears.
