English Valleys Girls Track Team Participates in Belle Plaine Meet

BELLE PLAINE—The English Valleys girls track team traveled to Belle Plaine high school on March 28 for a track meet. They finished in sixth in the Class B division with an aggregate score of 70. 

For the team events, the Bears placed second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 57.19. The 4x100 team consists of Delaney Hall, Libby Armstrong, Anna Gorsh and Kayli Mohror. 

In the 4x200 meter relay, the Bears finished in fifth with a time of 2:20.72. The 4x200 team is made up of Phoenix Sorden-Spies, Christy Knapp, Halle Striegel and Jerica Roberts.

Lastly for the team events, the Bears placed fifth in the 800 sprint medley relay with a time of 2:12.98. The 800 sprint medley team consists of Kayli Mohror, Libby Armstrong, Delaney Hall and Anna Gorsh.

For the individual events, Kayli Mohror took home the silver in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 14.01. Libby Armstrong also placed 11th in the event with a time of 15.57. 

Delaney Hall finished in seventh in the 200 meter dash with a final time of 31.55. 

In the 800 meter run, Kaylee Frazier was the fourth runner to cross the finish line with a time of 3:01.94. Frazier also took home second in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:39.01. 

In the 100 meter hurdles, Mackenzie Dietze placed ninth with a final time of 22.25.

For the shot put event, Kennedy Axmear put on a show en route to a first place finish. Axmear hurled the shot put a recorded distance of 117-06.50. Axmear also took home first place in the shot put event with a longest throw of 29-04.50.

Taylor Mikesell placed fifth in the discus event with a longest throw recorded at 64-07. Mikesell also placed second in the shot put event with a longest recorded throw of 28-10.50. 

Lastly for the individual events, Kayli Mohror placed second in the long jump event with a longest jump recorded at 14-10.75. 

The Bears girls track team will return to action on April 4, when they travel to WACO high school for a meet.
