SIGOURNEY—On June 5, the Sigourney Savages hosted the Montezuma Bravettes for a SICL matchup. The Savages secured the 6-0 victory over the Bravettes.

The Savages struck first in the bottom of the second. Senior Carly Goodwin stole home then eighth grader Ella Bruns knocked in Amiya Smallwood. They would add two more in the bottom of the third with an Erin Dawson single and an Amiya Smallwood sac-bunt.

Junior Dani Aller would push the lead to 5-0 with a sac-bunt in the bottom of the fourth. Aller would tally another RBI in the bottom of the sixth with a single.

Senior Carly Goodwin got the start for the Savages. She pitched six innings with no earned runs on two hits and 17 strikeouts. Goodwin pushed her season total of strikeouts over the triple digit mark, as she has 105 on the season.

The Savages push to 7-3 with a conference record of 6-1. They will visit the Cardinal Comets on June 6, who are ranked #10th in Class 2A.
