1931-2021

DELTA- Georgia Stout, age 89, of Delta, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Montezuma Specialty Care.

Georgia was born Nov. 18, 1931, in Martinsburg, to Adam Harrison and Sadie Almeda (Miller) Herrick. Her family moved to Delta when she was two months old and she graduated from Delta High School in 1951. On Sept. 25, 1959, she married Forrest LeVern Stout in the Quad Cities. Georgia did in-home babysitting for 31 years. She was an active member of the Delta United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and old westerns.

Survivors include her daughter: Sherry (Greg) Ehret of Gibson; son: Terry Stout of Delta; four grandchildren: Adam Stout of Delta, Nicole Stout of Keswick, Matthew Ehret and Ashley Ehret, both of Oskaloosa; three great grandchildren: Avery, Emersyn and Paisley; niece: Joyce (Jim) Northup of Blairstown and nephew: Bill (Jackie) Herrick of Centerville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: LeVern in 2017; great grandson: Christopher Stout and three brothers: Ronald, Roy Dean “Bud” and Don Herrick.

Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021, at the Delta United Methodist Church, with Pastor Vince Homan officiating. Burial will be at Garrett Cemetery near Delta. Visitation will be from 5p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Powell Funeral Home in Sigourney.
