Goodwin, Moore and Fisch Named to All-State Teams, Fineran Earns Honorable Mention

First Team:

Carly Goodwin:

Sigourney senior Carly Goodwin concluded her prolific career as a Sigourney Savage with a selection to the Class 1A First All-State Team.

In Class 1A, Goodwin tallied the third most wins (24), 10th most total bases (89), 14th in RBIs (40), 16th in home runs (7) and 23rd most hits (50).

On top of that, she finished in the top five in all classes in ERA ( third with a 0.37), strikeouts (third with 361), third in earned run average (Tied for third with 9), WHIP ( third with a 0.48) and opponent batting average (fifth with a 0.110).

Goodwin caps off her historic career with the Savages with one more accolade to add to her already vast collection of athletic achievements.

Josephine Moore:

Junior Josephine Moore continued to shine at the plate all-season, and earned herself a Class 1A First Team All-State selection.

Moore finished the season with a batting average of 0.369 and 39 runs batted in. 

In all of Class 1A, she finished with the third lowest opponent batting average (.105), the sixth most home runs (11), the 16th most total bases (82), and the 19th most RBIs (39).

Moore will look to replicate an extremely successful season, when she returns for her senior year campaign with the Savages. 

Third Team:

Ava Fisch:

Junior Ava Fisch wrapped her junior year with one final accolade: Third Team Class 1A All-State Honors.

She finished her season with six triples, which was the sixth most in all of Class 1A.

Fisch will return to the Savages for her senior season, and will look to replicate the production from this season.

Honorable Mention:

Ava Fineran:

Senior Ava Fineran concluded her career as a Sigourney softball player with an Honorable Mention selection to the Class 1A All-State Teams.

She played the hero in the state championship game by smacking a two-run single with two strikes in the top of the seventh to propel the Savages from down one to up one.
