Hammen’s 31 Pace Keota in 62-19 Win
The Savages and the Eagles clawed back and forth at each other for a little bit, being as close as 7-4, Keota before Hammen took over the night.
“As a team we played well and defensively we’ve improved immensely from last year,” Luke Hammen said.
After a buzzer beater by Hammen, the Eagles were up 21-6 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter was all Keota, as they outscored the Savages 18-0.
“I thought offensively we played well, and defensively we played even better,” Coach Stout said.
In addition to having 31 points, Luke Hammen had five steals, three rebounds and a block.
Carson Sprouse had nine points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
For Sigourney:
Levi Crawford and Ty Shafranek had five points each.
Ethan Shifflett and Bo Schmidt each had five boards on the night.
“Our press really bothered them early, and it worked well for us,” Coach Stout said.
