HEDRICK – The Keokuk County Veterans Affairs office hosted a free dinner at the Carl Craft Civic Center in Hedrick on May 6, to honor area veterans. “I’m just thankful for our veterans and the sacrifice that they made,” said VA Administrator Michelle Herman. “I just hope that they’re here for a good time, for fellowship with other veterans.”

Hedrick also has a Veterans Museum located right next to the civic center, displaying uniforms, artifacts, photographs, and a board showing the names of area men who served in the armed forces. The museum is open the second Sunday of every month, from 11 am til 3 pm, or via appointment.
