1959-2021

Jeffrey Allen Wolcott, 62, of Richland passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. He was born in Cedar Rapids July 26, 1959, to James Austin and Mary Louise Allen Wolcott. Jeff graduated from Pekin High School in 1977. Jeff married Amy Fordyce on Oct. 24, 2015. Jeff worked at many professions. He had been employed by Roger Wright Construction, Hadley Plumbing and Heating, Cavner and Hoy Construction, MarathonFoto as a race photographer and at Corteva (Pioneer Hybrid) Hedrick for 39 years, spending most of those years as a Safety Coordinator. Following his retirement, he worked at Pekin Schools and at the Outfield in Richland. Jeff was a member of the Richland United Methodist Church where he was a youth leader, a lay speaker, held many administrative offices and was a charter member of the RUMC Cowboy Church. He was a member of the Richland Lodge No. 38, A.F. & A.M., Kaaba Shrine of Davenport and Scottish Rite. He had previously been a part of The Washington County Conservation Board; the Richland Volunteer Fire Department and he had been the Scoutmaster of the Richland Area Boy Scout Troop 56 for many decades.

Jeff is survived by his parents; Jim and Mary Wolcott of Richland; his children: James Edwin Brian (Jeb) Wolcott (Allyson) of Ely, Iowa, Karree Ann Wolcott, of Fairfield, Bridger Caryl Wolcott (Haley Kopsieker) of Rubio; his brother Tom Wolcott (Anita) of Niceville Flo.; his wife Amy Wolcott of Richland; and step children: Marcus Tipton of Keosauqua, Jacob Weber of Richland, Orion Weber (Alexsia Corrigan) of Cedar Rapids, Michayne Weber of Richland. He was so very proud to be a Papa to his grandchildren: BrookeLynn Wolcott, Raylee Wolcott, Harper Noel Wolcott and Hayden Frazier Wolcott. He was preceded in death by his sister Jane Marie Wolcott and his grandparents Julias Cedric and Emma Mabel Wolcott and Raymond and Zita Allen. He leaves behind extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at the Richland United Methodist Church with Rev. Harlan Van Voorst and Rev. Kim Gates officiating. Burial will be at Clay Cemetery near Richland. Open visitation at the church will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Masonic Rites will be held following visitation at 8 p.m. Memorials may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 306 N Washington Street, Richland, Iowa 52585. These memorials may be made to the family to be dispersed to his favorite charities at a later date. Or may be designated to his favorite charities: Richland Volunteer Fire Department, Pekin HS Fine Arts, St Jude's, or Clay Cemetery. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is in charge of arrangements
