Joy Render
Joy P. Render
1935-2020
On Friday, Nov. 27, 2020 Joy P Render entered into the presence of the Lord.
She chose to spend her final days on earth at home, surrounded by family.
Joy was a beloved Daughter, Sister, cherished Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, and a Child of the King.
On March 3, 1935 she was born to, Victor and Phyllis Kisellus. She spent a very happy life in Braceville, Ill, where she also married Chester Render on July 16, 1955. Her family grew with the birth of their sons; Barry (Denise) and Terry (Cherokee). In 1967 the family moved to Iowa where they purchased land to begin farming. More than 50 years later her family will have the privilege of sorting through the memories built there.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, brother (Jim), husband, and other extended family members. She leaves behind her sons, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and other extended family members including her sister-in-laws (Gail Kisellus and Pat Render) and brother-in-law Kenneth (Sue) Render
Joy enjoyed being with her family, her years as a farm wife, and all the things her and Chester did together. Her favorite pastimes were reading and watching movies. After Chester passed, Joy began a new passion of teaching where she shared about the love of Jesus. She said she often learned more than she taught.
Those of us who knew her were often the recipient of well-crafted cards, notes, and letters. Not to mention, many meals and baked goods. There may or may not be a couple of freezers full of breads or pies with your name on it.
Recently Joy shared that often words did not always come out the way she intended which is why she enjoyed writing.
Her not quite ready Christmas 2020 letter left a few final words to all of you:
…So here I am until Jesus wants me home. I’ve had a good and happy life, so I don’t have any regrets at all…
…Life is lonesome without Chester, but it still goes on. We have a great family and I’m so so proud of them all…
…I pray you all have a wonderful Holiday Season full of family, fun, and joy. Merry Christmas and Be Blessed. My love to all.
In a welcome, but unexpected find, she left final words to her family:
Be at peace our children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. We love you dearly and always will. Keep the faith.
Our love always!
