Keota and Tri-County Take Part in the Rick Wanamaker Invitational

MARENGO—On May 4, the Keota Eagles and Tri-County Trojans track teams made the trek to Marengo for the Rick Wanamaker Invitational at Iowa Valley high school. The Eagles boys team finished in sixth with an aggregate score of 27, with the girls secured fourth with a total score of 63. The Trojans boys team finished in seventh with three total points, while the girls placed sixth with an aggregate score of 46.

Keota:

Boys:

For the team events for the boys, the Eagles were the fifth team to cross the finish line in the 4x100 meter relay with a final time of 51.04, and took home the bronze in the sprint medley with a time of 1:50.82. Both the 4x100 and the sprint medley team consisted of Gavin Sieren, Chase Sieren, Evan Vittetoe and Luke Moeller.

For the individual events, Evan Vittetoe placed sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.54. 

In the 200 meter dash, Luke Moeller was the sixth runner to cross the finish line with a time of 26.01. Moeller also finished in third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.40.

Gavin Sieren placed fifth in the long jump with a longest leap recorded at 16-11.00.

Lastly for the individual events for the boys, Brody Greiner and Jax Weber finished back to back in the shot put event. Greiner placed fifth with a longest throw of 32-04.00, and Weber secured sixth with a farthest toss recorded at 31-06.00. 

Girls:

For the team events, the Eagles placed second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 56.96, and finished in third in the sprint medley with a time of 2:07.58. Both relay teams included Kimberly Clarahan, Grace Conger, Izzi Chalupa and Olivia Lyle.

For the individual events, Izzi Chalupa and Olivia Lyle placed back to back in the 100 meter dash. Chalupa finished in fourth with a time of 14.48, while Lyle was right behind her in fifth with a time of 14.60. Lyle also took home the silver for the Eagles in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:07.51.

Emily Moeller was the fourth runner to cross the finish line in the 200 meter dash with a time of 31.21.

In the 100 meter hurdles, Kimberly Clarahan secured the bronze with a time of 19.29. Grace Conger placed fifth in the same event with a final time of 19.71.

Kennedy Jackson placed fourth in the discus event with a longest throw recorded at 75-0.95. Jackson also finished in fourth in the shot put event with a farthest hurl of 26-11.00. Reese Conrad also placed fifth in the shot put event with a longest toss of 26-02.00.

Lastly for the individual events for the girls, Izzi Chalupa secured fourth in the long jump event with a longest leap recorded at 14-03.00.

Both Keota track teams will return to action on May 8, when they visit Montezuma high school for the Darrell Brand Relays. 

Tri-County:

Boys:

For the team events, the Trojans placed fifth in the distance medley with a final time of 1:55.95. The sprint medley team consisted of Keagan MacCready, Boston Roorda, Drew Fisher and David Gillam.

For the individual events, Keagan MacCready finished in sixth in the long jump event with a longest leap recorded at 16-05.00.

Girls:

For the team events, the Trojans took home the silver with a final time of 2:00.67. The sprint medley team was made up of Ayla Hall, Gabby Bunker, Lily Randall and Aaliyah Cooper.

For the individual events, Lily Randall took home the gold in the 100 meter dash with a final time of 13.78. Jordyn Hughes also placed third in the same event with a time of 14.37. 

Lily Randall also took home the bronze in the long jump event with a longest leap recorded at 14-08.00. Gabby Bunker also placed fifth in the same event with a farthest jump recorded at 13-10.50. 

Ayla Hall was the fourth runner to cross the finish line in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:08.68. 

The Trojans will return to action on May 11, when they head to BGM high school for the State Qualifying Meet.
