Keota Historical Museum new acquisition

The Keota Historical Museum has proudly accepted the donation of the Singmaster buffalo head from the Wilson Memorial Library Board of Trustees. This head was given to the library in 2000 from the Farmers Savings Bank when the bank started their remodeling project.

The plaque with the buffalo head states: Donated by CF Singmaster 1915. CF Singmaster had a herd of buffalo at Maplehurst, the Singmaster home, located north and west of Keota. We assume that the buffalo hide, which is also in the museum, came from the Singmaster farm. If anyone has any further information on the buffalo head or the hide, please contact one of the museum members.
