Keota Topples Belle Plaine for Second Win of the Season

KEOTA—On June 21, the Keota Eagles hosted the Belle Plaine Plainsmen for a SICL matchup. The Eagles soared past the Plainsmen by a score of 8-6 for their second win on the season. This marked the first win in softball for Keota over Belle Plaine since 2011.

The Eagles found themselves in a 4-0 hole after an inning of play. They quickly rescinded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the second inning to cut the lead down to 4-3.

Both teams added two more runs in the fifth inning, and the Eagles found themselves down 6-5 with only six outs for them offensively.

Keota did not shy from the moment, they tallied three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure their first lead of the game. They held off the Plainsmen, and secured the 8-6 victory. 

The Eagles push to 2-13 on the season with a conference record of 2-11.
