Keota Travels to Belle Plaine for Girls Track Meet

BELLE PLAINE—On March 28, the Keota Eagles traveled to Belle Plaine high school for a girls track meet. The Eagles finished in eighth in the Class B division with an aggregate score of 25.50. 

For the team events, the Eagles placed fourth in the 4x100 meter relay with a final time of 59.08. The 4x100 team is made up of Kimberly Clarahan, Izzy Chalupa, Grace Conger and Emily Moeller.

In the 4x200 meter relay, the Eagles took home third place with a time of 2:12.26. The 4x200 meter relay team consists of Ava Greiner, Emily Sheetz, Cassandra Swantz and Emily Moeller.

Lastly for the team events, the Eagles finished in fourth in the sprint medley with a final time of 2:11.22. The sprint medley team is made up of Kimberly Clarahan, Izzi Chalupa, Grace Conger and Olivia Lyle. 

For the individual events, Olivia Lyle placed seventh in the 100 meter dash, while Izzi Chalupa placed ninth in the same event. 

In the 200 meter dash, Olivia Lyle placed sixth with a final time of 31.50. Emily Moeller finished in ninth place in the same event with a time of 32.22.

Grace Conger and Kimberly Clarahan placed sixth and seventh in the 100 meter hurdles. Conger finished in sixth with a time of 21.36, while Clarahna finished in seventh with a time of 21.59.

Kimberly Clarahan also took home second place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:26.96.

In the discus event, Kennedy Jackson tied for sixth with a longest throw of 63-01.50. Reese Conrad placed 11th with a longest throw of 54-05. 

Lastly for the individual events, Olviai Lyle and Izzi Chalupa placed sixth and seventh in the long jump. Lyle finished in sixth with a longest jump of 12-05.75, while Chalupa finished in seventh with a longest jump of 12-05.00. 

The Eagles girls track team will return to action on April 3, when they participate in the Lone Tree meet.
