Kevin Russell Bennett, 58

SIGOURNEY—Kevin Russell Bennett, 58, of Sigourney, died January 5, 2024 in Sigourney.

He was born May 3, 1965 in Kirksville, MO to Edward Russell and Connie Sue Bailey Bennett. He married Christy Johnson February 11, 1995 and they later divorced.

A 1983 graduate of Sigourney High School, Kevin worked for Atwood Electric for 14 years, worked installing pipeline, and for Van Meter as an account manager. He also worked personally as an electrician in numerous homes.

Kevin was very meticulous. He enjoyed hunting, boating, camping and metal detecting.

Surviving are 2 daughters, Carlie Bennett (fiancé, Shayne Denniston) and Kelsie Bennett (Shawn Rupe) both of Ottumwa; 2 grandchildren, Cruz and Bodie; his parents, Russ and Connie Bennett of Sigourney; and 2 sisters, Angela (Paul) Davisson of Cedar Rapids and Kelly Garrett of Hills.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Halbert Earl Bailey, Emogene L. Webb Bailey, Samuel Calvin Bennett and Della Delores Russell West.

Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 10th at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 11th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Decker officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
