Klett finishes 78th at State cross country
FORT DODGE – Throughout the race Sigourney junior Troy Klett was on the move.
Klett ran a varied pace throughout the class 1A State cross country meet held at the Lakeside Municipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge on Nov. 2.
The junior was able to finish 78th overall with a time of 17:46.8. The junior was able to make bold moves early, as the quick start to the race didn’t seem to bother him too much.
Klett started out running up near the front half of the pack early on. At the first mile Klett had turned in a time of 5:36.8. The second mile, which featured a more hilly section of the golf course challenged Klett a little more, as his second mile was 11 seconds slower than his first mile. Klett crossed the second mile with a time of 5:47.1.
The final section of the course featured Klett keeping pace with the runners around him. He was able to finish the third mile with a time of 6:22.9, which gave him an overall time on the course at 17:46.8, and a 78th place finish in the race.
