Maxine Louise Crile Martin, 92

Maxine Louise Crile Martin, age 92, died November 8, 2023 at the Manor House in Sigourney. She was born March 14, 1931 to Adam and Vida Hawkinson Crile in Rosehill, IA. She married Carl Ardith Martin on December 24, 1951 in her parent’s home in Rosehill. They lived in Sigourney for 9 years before moving to Delta. She worked as a cook at the Delta Schools, ran the Delta Hardware, worked at Standard Coalsman, Ottumwa, Big Smith’s, Oskaloosa and Pella Rolscreens, Pella retiring in 1993. She also did upholstering at her home and taught it as well.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Ardith and daughter Deborah Martin. Her siblings and spouses, Lucille and Lou DeWitt, Bernard and Norma Crile and Virginia and Rodney Sytsma.

She is survived by her son, Randy (Susan) Martin of Grinnell; daughters, Jody (Delos) Steward, Marshalltown; Christie (Don) Sellers, Sigourney and Barb (Jeff) Clubb, Ankeny. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Michelle (Dave) Haswell, Mason and Helaina, Hendersonville, TN; Robin (Bryan) Llewellyn, Lillian, Hazel and Ryder, Otley; Ryan (Stephanie) Martin, Pella; Shannon Stanton, Ava, Mya and Savannah, Webb City, MO; Ashley VerSteeg; Kiley VerSteeg, Olivia, Marshalltown; Adam Sellers; Aaron (Missy) Sellers, Hunter and  Nile; Greg (Rebecca) Sellers, Kinnick and Emmaline, Sigourney; Jenny (Bryan) Beal, Clay, Ankeny.
