Missing Sigourney Girl Found, Man Charged With Harboring Runaway
SIGOURNEY – A 16-year-old girl from Sigourney, went missing on June 22. According to her family, she left her home to go on a walk, but did not return. That same day, her family received a text from an unknown number, apparently sent by the girl, stating she had lost track of time at a friend’s house. The girl was reported missing to the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 27, the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home in Sigourney. The girl was found and returned home safely. Carter Wallerich, 21 of Sigourney, was arrested on charges of harboring a runaway child, an aggravated misdemeanor.
