Sigourney:

On June 5, the Sigourney Savages hosted the Lynnville-Sully Hawks for a conference matchup. The Savages stayed undefeated, as they bested the Hawks by a final score of 13-0.

The Savages jumped out to a 8-0 lead after two innings of play. They extended their lead to 13 by the conclusion of the fourth inning en route to the 13-0 victory.

The Savages offense was led by Josephine Moore, who smacked in four RBIs on the day. Moore pushes her total RBIs on the year to 19, which is tied for the fourth most in class 1A. 

Kenzi VanDenHueval also brought home three runners for the Savages on a double and a single.

Carly Goodwin held the Hawks to a hitless day, in which she struck out 10 of the 13 batters she faced.

The Savages push to 8-0 on the season, and will return to action on June 6, when they visit the Montezuma Bravettes.

The Sigourney Savages visited the Montezuma Bravettes on June 7 for a conference matchup. The Savages took down the Bravettes by a final score of 7-0.

Carly Goodwin tied her career high for strikeouts in a game with 19 on the day. She went seven innings with no earned runs on one hit.

The Savage offense was led by Kenzi VanDenHueval and Erin Dawson, who both knocked in two runners apiece. Macy Fisch, Courtney Hemsley and Amiya Smallwood also notched RBIs on the day for the Savages.

The Savages advance to 9-1 on the season, and will return to action on June 8, when  they host the Cardinal Comets. The Comets gave the Savages their first loss of the season at the Oskaloosa tournament on June3, and the Savages will look for revenge. 

Keota:

On June 5, the Keota Eagles hosted the North Mahaska Warhawks for a conference matchup. The Eagles fell to the Warhawks by a final score of 15-2.

The Eagles fall to 0-7 on the season, and will return to action on June 7, when they visit the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks.

Tri-County:

The Tri-County Trojans hosted the BGM Bears on June 5 for a conference matchup. The Trojans took care of the Bears by a final score of 5-1.

The Trojans offense was led by Delanie Little, who had all three of the RBIs for the Trojans on the day.

Little also got the start from the bump, in which she finished a complete game with no earned runs on two hits and six strikeouts.

The Trojans pushed to 4-3 on the season, and will return to action on June 7, when they visit the North Mahaska Warhawks.

The Tri-County Trojans visited the North Mahaska Warhawks on June 7 for a conference matchup. The Trojans took down the Warhawks by a final score of 3-1.

Trojans starting pitcher Delanie Little continued to push from the mound, as she finished her day with seven innings pitched, one earned run on two hits and seven strikeouts.

The three Trojans runs came from the bats of Peyton Icenbice, Lily Randall and Raegan Molyneux, who each knocked in an RBI apiece.

The Trojans advance to 5-3 on the season, and will return to action on June 9, when they host the Montezuma Bravettes.

The TriCounty offense was led by Lily Randall and Delanie Little, who both tallied two RBIs on the day. 

Little got the start from the bump as well, and finished her day with seven innings pitched, two earned runs on four hits and eighth strikeouts.

The Trojans push to 6-3 on the season, and will return to action on June 10, when they host the Grand View Christian Thunder and the Lone Tree Lions for a doubleheader. 

On June 10, the Tri-County Trojans lost the Grand View Christian Thunder and the Lone Tree Lion in a doubleheader. The Trojans fell to the Thunder by a final score of 6-5, and fell to the Lions by a final score of 10-9.

The Trojans were in a tightly contested game against the Thunder that was tied at five apiece heading into the seventh inning. The Thunder broke the tie, and eventually won the game by a score of 6-5.

In the game against Lone Tree, the Lions stormed to a 5-2 lead after three innings of play. The Trojans were down 10-5 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. They went on to rip off four runs in the bottom of the sixth, but were not able to tie the ballgame. The comeback effort fell just short, as the Trojans lost to the Lions by a final score of 10-9.

The Trojans fall to 6-5 on the season, and will return to action on June 12, when they visit the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks.  

English Valleys:

The English Valleys Bears hosted the HLV Warriors on June 5 for a conference matchup. The Bears bested the Warriors by a final score of 9-2.

The English Valleys’ offense had three athletes with two RBIs on the day: Addy Westfall, Kennedy Axmear and Ada Mews.

Axmear also got the start from the bump, where she finished with seven innings pitched, two earned runs on five hits and seven strikeouts.

The Bears advance to 6-3 on the season, and will return to action on June 7, when they visit the Lynnville-Sully Hawks.

The English Valleys Bears visited the Lynnville-Sully Hawks on June 7 for a conference matchup. The Bears bested the Hawks by a final score of 8-0.

The Bears started the game hot with four runs in the first inning, then two more in the third en route to the 8-0 victory.

Taylor Mikesell and Imigyn Stratton led the offense with two RBIs apiece. Ada Mews also knocked in a runner with a single.

Kennedy Axmear continued to have success from the mound, as she finished her day with seven innings pitched, no earned runs on three hits and eight strikeouts. 

The Bears push to 7-3 on the season, and will return to action on June 9, when they host the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks.

On June 9, the English Valleys Bears hosted the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks for a conference matchup. The Bears fell to the Tigerhawks by a final score of 11-4.

The Colfax-Mingo offense was hot from the start, as they scored a run in the first four innings. They added four more in the sixth and seventh en route to the 11-4 victory. 

Addy Westfall knocked in the one RBI for the Bears on the day. 

Kennedy Axmear got the start from the bump, and finished her day with seven innings pitched, four earned runs on 10 hits and nine strikeouts.

The Bears fall to 7-4 on the season, and will return to action on June 10, when they participate in the Vinton-Shellsburg tournament.

On Jun 10, the English Valleys Bears participated in the Vinton-Shellsburg tournament. They finished their tournament 1-1 with a victory against the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings, and a loss against the Columbus Catholic Sailors.

The Bears were able to beat the Vikings by a final score of 6-1. The Bears stormed out to the 6-1 lead by the conclusion of the fourth inning, and held onto the lead en route to the 6-1 victory. 

The Bears loss to the Sailors was by a final score of 11-3. The Sailors started the game with five runs in the first three innings. The Bears responded with three of their own in the fourth and fifth innings, but the Sailors added six of their own in those innings. The Bears were unable to keep up with the Sailor offense. 

The Bears finish off their trip to the Vinton-Shellsburg tournament with a record of 8-5, and will return to action on June 12, when they visit the North Mahaska Warhawks.

Pekin:

On June 5, the Pekin Panthers hosted the Van Buren County Warriors SEISC-North vs South matchup. The Warriors defeated the Panthers by a final score of 11-1.

The Panthers lone run was knocked in by Myah Bainbridge via a dinger.

The Panthers fall to 0-7 on the season, and will return to action on June 6, when they visit the Columbus Wildcats.

The Pekin Panthers visited the Columbus Wildcats on June 6 for a SEISC-North matchup. The Panthers fell to the Wildcats by a final score of 13-0.

The Panthers fall to 0-8 on the season, and will return to action on June 8, when they host the Wapello Arrows.

On June 9, the Pekin Panthers hosted the Winfield Mt-Union Wolves for a SEISC-North matchup. The Wolves bested the Panthers by a final score of 20-11.

The Panthers stormed out to a 9-5 lead after an innings of play, but the Wolves went on to outscore the Panthers 15-2 in the final six innings to secure the victory.

The Panthers fall to 0-11 on the season, and will return to action on June 13, when they visit the Highland Huskies.
